TripIt takes the stress and mess out of booking airfare. It consolidates all your documentation in one easy-to-access format, viewable from your computer or mobile device. It’ll even get you weather maps of where you want to go.
Here’s how to use TripIt.
Step 1: Setup Your TripIt Account
When you get to http://www.TripIt.com, just fill out the sign up box to create your account.
Enter your personal information.
Add your address book. (Optional.)
And finally get started by adding your first trip.
Step 2: Forward Your Plans to TripIt
Once your account is setup, the easiest way to input a trip is to just forward your confirmation emails to TripIt. It’ll then automatically feed the data into their system and create an easy to read and share format.
To do this, find your confirmation email and hit forward.
Send it to plans@tripit.com.
Once TripIt receives the email, all you need to do is find the trip in the “Trips” tab and you’ll have all your flight details.
You can even view a local map or see the weather on the same page.
Step 3: Using the Mobile Version
There are two ways to use TripIt on a mobile device. The first is to download an app, the second is to use the mobile site. Let’s take a look at both.
To download the app, just do a search in either the Apple or Android app store.
Download and open the app. Sign in to your account.
Your available trips will be displayed. Click on the trip you want to view.
All the details for your trip will then be displayed.
Using the mobile website version is a very similar process. Direct your mobile phone’s browser to http://m.tripit.com.
You’ll see a login page. Type in your email and password.
Select the specific trip.
It’s that simple! You’ve now learned to use both the web version and the mobile versions of TripIt. TripIt allows you to consolidate all your travel plans in one easy-to-access place. It gives you additional tools like maps and weather reports and just makes traveling simpler. Best of all, it’s free.

From Deanna Maio – Business Growth & Marketing Strategist at http://www.DeannaMaio.com
Hi Deanna,
That’s a great idea. I travel a lot too, and I have created my own “Travel List” of things to pack.
I created a document listing all the basic items needed for trips in general, and my drug store and my Cosmetic counter have provided me with little samples, so that I don’t always have to travel with the LARGE items, like shampoos, make-up etc. (which are already prepacked in a cosmetic bag and left in the suitcase).
So, now every time I need to get ready for a trip, I have a ready-to-print check list of what needs packing, including paper-work i.e. passport etc. and I can pack and be ready to go in under an hour.
Takes the hassle out of all that time spent trying to remember what to pack.
Just sharing my idea with you to make your travels a bit easier as well.
Have a great weekend.
Pamela 🙂
